Obituary of John Brian Sheppard

Sheppard - John Brian of London, passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on Sunday June 16, 2024, at the age of 72. Dearly loved husband of Karen Sheppard and loved dad of Mark (Dawn) Fairbairn, Jason (Julie) Sheppard, Nathaniel Sheppard, Jenna (Mandy) Sheppard and Ayren (Danielle) Brown. Proud grandpa of Eric, Katie, Elijah, Zelenia, Bobbie, Zachery, Jacob, Sadie, Charlotte, Meredith, Scott, Aria, Ava and great grandpa of Goku, Rhett and Lily. Dear brother of Jim (Leslie) Sheppard and Lynne Theberge and is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is fondly remembered by Karen’s family. John was born October 12,1951, in Chatham, the son of the late B. “Gerry” (Shillington) and Reid Sheppard. John retired after 31 years of teaching high school math at Saunders and Oakridge. John was an enthusiastic tennis player, he enjoyed golf, hockey, pickleball, and baseball, but he thoroughly enjoyed supporting his grandkids in their sporting interests and was their biggest fan. He loved his walks, the outdoors and travelling.  Many thanks for their committed excellence and support services to Dr. Miranda Sheppard, Drs. Rodriguez and Raphael of the London Cancer Clinic, Dr. George Kim and his staff, Trang Pham, and the very kind, caring and loving staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London.

A visitation Open House will be held at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S, London (Lambeth) on Tuesday, July 2^nd from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A private family graveside service to be held at the St. George Cemetery, Hyde Park. Cremation has taken place.

Donations can be made to the Children’s Cancer Unit at LHSC in memory of John.
