Obituary of Colette Jones

                                                    December 18, 1955 - December 1, 2024

Colette’s lengthy and courageous battle with frontotemporal degeneration (FTD) came to a peaceful end at the Village of Glendale Crossing, London on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at the age of 68. Colette was married for 48 years to her husband and best friend Douglas. She will be missed by her two daughters, Pamela (Allan) and Holly (Mark), and her four grandchildren, Ethan, Lauren, Rebecca and Heather. Also missed by her sister-in-law Sharon Meguerian (John). Predeceased by her parents, Paul-Emile and Alfreda Quintal of Charlemagne, Quebec. Colette has five brothers and three sisters, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

During her working years, she had a rewarding career in the translation department at London Life. After leaving London Life, she enjoyed being a stay at home mom to our two daughters.

Colette was also a quiet soul who was talented with knitting, sewing, crocheting and painting. She also loved outdoor winter activities including cross country skiing, downhill skiing, and snowshoeing.

Special thanks to the McCormick Dementia Services Day Program, where Colette enjoyed stimulating and fun activities for a number of years, and to the third -floor staff for the loving care she received in her final days at The Village of Glendale Crossing.

As per Colette’s wishes, cremation has taken place. An informal Celebration of Life followed by a desert reception will be held on Saturday January 11, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Summerside Community Church, 1447 Commissioners Rd E London N6M 1C6.
