Obituary of Dean Sutton
With heavy hearts but fond memories, we announce the passing of Dean Clark Sutton, who was born on February 24, 1959, in London, Ontario. Dean left us to join his beloved wife, Kathy Sutton (Perreault), who passed away in November 2023, after 40 years of love and adventure together. Married on September 10, 1983, Dean and Kathy built a life filled with laughter, love, and family.
Dean is survived by his three wonderful children: Jessie (Brad), along with her daughter Mattaya; Daryl (Michelle), with their boys Darren and Lucas; and Alysha with her daughter Harmony. “Papa” and “Mimmy” held a special place in the hearts of their grandchildren, who will forever cherish their memories together.
Dean loved the simple joys of life. He grew up on the beaches of Port Franks, where he spent countless summer days water skiing with his cousins and soaking up the sun. Time at the family cottage brought endless fun with friends and family, always making the most of every moment.
Hockey was one of Dean’s biggest passions. He played centre for Lambeth on Friday nights, with his dad making sure he always had the best equipment, buying hockey sticks by the dozen. He went on to coach both Daryl and Alysha.
Dean was also a dedicated mail carrier for 35 years in London. He took great pride in his work and built lasting connections along his route.
Dean was also lucky enough to grow up with his best friend, Steve Boon, by his side. Their bond was like that of brothers, and Steve was/is very much a part of the Sutton family throughout Dean’s life.
Dean was predeceased by his father, Robert Sutton (1992), his mother Jackie’s partner, Hugh (2022), and close friends Sue and Mario Gubbels (2014). Survived by his mother Jackie, his siblings: Lori Grant, Linda Sutton, and Rob Sutton (Angela), and his close friends, Noelle, Steve and Dennis, who will miss him dearly.
Always with his family and friends at the heart of everything he did, Dean will be remembered for his warmth, humour, laughter and living life to the absolute fullest.
A joint celebration of life for Dean and Kathy Sutton will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1-4pm at The Army Navy Club in Lambeth, with words of endearment at 3pm. Join us and wear your brightest colours to celebrate Dean and Kathy’s bright lives.
