Jenkinson- Evelyn May (Tompkins) of Strathmere Lodge, Strathroy passed away peacefully on Monday August 26, 2024, at the age of 96. Loved wife of 66 years of the late Melvin Jenkinson (2015). Loved Mom of the late Peter (2022) and Mary, Connie Amos late Martin (2018), Fran and Duncan McKeen, Andrew, Ian.

Proud grandmother of Shawn (Jen), Michael, Martha (Rocky), Mike (Tina), Matt (Christine), Jess (Garet), April (Chris) and is loved by her 9 great-grandchildren. Beloved sister of Charles and Coby Tompkins and sister-in-law of Helen Smith, Pauline Crawford and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was born November 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Amos and Dorothy (Embury) Tompkins. She was a labour and delivery nurse having graduated from the Chatham Public General Hospital.

Evelyn had a witty sense of humour, loved flowers, soft blankets, singing and she gave the best hugs. The family request that guests dress in cool casual attire for the service.

The funeral service will be held at the Lambeth United Church 4268 Colonel Talbot Rd., London on Friday, August 30th at Noon, followed by a luncheon. Visitation at the church one-hour prior from 11 to 12. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society or to Lambeth United Church.
