Obituary of Velma Doreen Gowanlock

Velma Gowanlock Peacefully at the McCormick Home on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, Velma Doreen (nee: Ferguson) Gowanlock of Lambeth passed away in her 85th year. Beloved wife for 63 years of Grant. Velma will be sadly missed by her children Karen and John Braam, Kevin and Diane Gowanlock and Keith and Rita Gowanlock. Proud grandmother of Chelsea (Kyle), Stacey, Zachary (Meg), Kyle (Kira) and Riley. Velma is survived by her brother Howard and Lorna Ferguson and brother-in-law Gerald and Doreene Gowanlock. Velma will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law Russell and Leita and Lloyd and Shirley. Velma was a dedicated nurse for 43 years at Victoria Hospital. She was a passionate farmer seen on many occasions driving a red tractor. Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South, Lambeth (519) 652-2020 on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment White Oak Cemetery.
