Obituary of John Brown
Brown- John C. of Goderich and formerly of London, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 9th, 2023 at the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital at the age of 90. Dearly loved by Catherine McDonald (nee Shore) and proud father of Theresa Brown (Don Noble) of London, Leo Brown of Edmonton, Laura Brown (Liz Musey) of London and J.J. Brown of London and is survived by their mother Elizabeth Brown of London. Dear step-father of Tory McDonald, Anne Babin, Robert McDonald (Elisabeth) and David McDonald (Lisa). John is survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren and 5 step great- grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews & cousins. John is the brother of Betty, Helen and Jim and was predeceased by siblings Leona and Mac.
John was born December 22,1932 in London the son of the late Leo and Velma (Johnston) Brown. John was the former owner of a milk delivery company, a founding member of both the minor and senior hockey leagues in Lambeth and was a member of the Elks Club in Alberta. Prior to retirement, he was a delivery driver for Battery Supply & UAP. Recently, John had enjoyed playing Farmers euchre in Goderich. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at Harbour Hill Retirement Community, to the nurses on the dialysis unit and the palliative care unit team for their care and compassion shown to John.
Funeral Service will be held at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd. S. Lambeth on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Private interment to follow in the Christ Church Cemetery, Glanworth. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital (Dialysis Unit) 120 Napier St. Goderich, ON N7A 1W5.
