Obituary of Dorothy Eleanor Faas
Faas, Dorothy Eleanor (Bailey)
11 December 1935 – 19 September 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Eleanor on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, at Victoria Hospital following a brief illness.
Ellie was the dear wife to Fred for 57 years. Adored mother of Jackie & Larry Day, Otisville, Michigan, and loving Nana of Sarah & Logan. Chosen family of Karen Suggitt.
Daughter of the late Dorothy & Frank Bailey. Dear sister to Jack Bailey (late Virginia), late Bill Bailey (Lois), and late Margaret Sanderson (late Graham). Loving Aunt, unending source of Juicy Fruit gum and special memories to a host of nieces & nephews.
Ellie was a lifetime member of Dundas Street Centre United Church and the UCW.
Ellie possessed a kind and gentle nature. She was thoughtful and always concerned with the needs of others. Alongside her life-partner Fred, caring for others and giving back to the community was of great importance to Ellie. She was a long-serving Sister of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO), Chapter G, past Residential Chairman of the United Way, and volunteer with the Women’s Auxiliary at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Fred and Jackie wish to thank the staff who took care of Ellie at Victoria Hospital and Waverley Mansion.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Drive fast, Fred! Until we meet again. On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca. McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, Lambeth, 519-652-2020 in care of arrangements.
