Obituary of Stewart Malcolm Jackson

Stewart Jackson

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that our family shares the passing of Stewart Jackson on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in his 82nd year.  Those who knew Stew knew how kind and gentle he was and how he loved his family.  Beloved husband for 59 years to Gayle.  Loving father of Jim (Darlene), Ray (Kate), Todd (Jenn), and will be greatly missed by his dear grandchildren Steven, Amanda, Quinn, Leah, Abbey, and Lily.  Brother to Norm, brother-in-law to Allan Gilbert (Sandy), and uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Norman and Helen (MacKay).

Stew grew up in London, Ontario and began working at Acme Builders as a carpenter, and then as a millwright at Gudgeon Brothers Ltd.  He then moved on to opening his own business, Renew Foundry Equipment rebuilding foundry machines.  As a skilled craftsman, Stewart was always there for family and friends offering to help build, renovate, and repair.

Stew always loved music, playing low-stakes poker, bocce ball, and making people laugh.  Education of his children and grandchildren was valued highly and he helped in every way he could.  He thoroughly enjoyed travelling around the world with good friends and family.  He will be often remembered by all those whose lives he touched.

In honouring Stew's wishes cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Stew’s Life will be held at the  McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road South, London 519-652-2020 on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 2 pm

Interment to be held at a later date.  Donations can be made to The Canadian Liver Foundation, The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Ontario's Organ and Tissue Donation Agency, or Diabetes Canada gratefully acknowledged.  Online condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca.

May he rest in peace.
