(March 17, 1972 - July 22, 2021)
Suddenly due to an accident on Thursday, July 22, 2021 Ryan Steven Patrick Leppard Groenewegen of London in his 50th year. Ryan was the devoted father of Kaitlyn Groenewegen. He was deeply loved by his wife Adriana Antohi and respected by her son David Grama. Ryan was the cherished chosen son of Euphemia “Mia” Groenewegen and the late Cornelis Groenewegen (2019). He will be greatly missed by his siblings Mary Jane and Joe, Teresa and Luc, Willi and Mimi, Bernadette and Ed, Katherine, Corinne, Mona and Mike, Monique as well as Kelly and Chris Leppard. He was an amazing uncle to many nieces and nephews who appreciated his love and dry humor. Ryan always felt so fortunate to be loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins both here in Canada and in the Netherlands. We are all so profoundly lucky to have had Ryan in our lives. Ryan will also be missed by his many close friends, especially Mike Rivers and Mike Williams. Ryan was respected as a sheet metal worker who took pride in his job. He loved being outside, fishing, and sharing time with family and friends. Ryan was intelligent with a quick wit as well as he had a strong sense of honesty, responsibility, and honour. He was a hard-working man in all aspects of his life, and with this he had been able to achieve success as well as fulfillment.
Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South, Lambeth 519-652-2020 on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Due to the pandemic, friends must call 519-652-2020 to reserve a time to come to visit with the family. Face masks or face coverings are mandatory. The Funeral Mass celebrating Ryan’s life will be held at All Saints Parish, 124 Front St E, Strathroy, ON N7G 1Y9 on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 11:00 am with Father Thom Blondin celebrating. Again, you must call 519-652-2020 to reserve a seat in church and masks are mandatory. Cremation has taken place with interment Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
