When You Remember Me
By Peggy Fenn
When you remember me
just before the dawn
or close of day
when the birds begin to sing
especially in spring
when all the flowers bloom
when you remember me
think of a big trout
just you and me sitting
on the bank
as the breeze lifts the leaves
I’ll whisper from the trees
when you remember me
think of all the daisies
fluttering along the road
as each robin hops
to catch that great big worm
especially in the quiet time
when you remember me
when the thunder cracks and rolls
across the darkened sky
when the fireflies
are all aglow
when you remember me
