Lorne Orr

Peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, Lorne Robert Orr of London and formerly of Westminster Township at the age of 88 years.  Beloved husband for 67 years of Irene Orr.  Loving father of Tom and Kathy Orr, Karen Chapman, Peter and Dale Orr and Andrew and the late Jodi Orr (2018).Proud grandpa of Bryan and Corry Blackall, Jason and Stephanie Orr, Bruce Blackall, Ross Blackall, Jacob and Jennie Orr, Peter John Chapman, Natalie and Ben Baker, Logan Orr, Thomasina Orr, Shona and Mike Archambault, Stephanie and John Bjerke, Dalton Orr, Matthew Orr and great-grandpa of Mason, Ryan, Gaby, Cole, Kira, Tyson, Audrey, Chase, Nolan, Hudson, Ethan, Lucas, Jovanna, Ava, Maxwell, Kai, Lane, Van, Knox, Rago and Andi Mae.  Dear brother of Helen White. 

A drive-thru visitation celebrating Lorne’s life will be held where Lorne loved best at the family farm, 6398 Orr Drive, London, Ont. on Monday, June 7, 2021from 2 – 6 pm.  How fitting it is to celebrate Lorne’s life on the very location he was born 88 years ago.  Lorne is a pioneer with this drive-thru visitation as we have never done this before.    McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, Lambeth in care of arrangements.  Any questions, please call 519-652-2020.  Please keep in mind that no one is allowed to exit their vehicle.  Cremation has taken place with a private family interment Monday, June 7, 2021.  Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation 2300 Yonge St Suite 1200, Toronto, ON M4P 1E4 gratefully acknowledged.  On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca.

I would like to thank everyone who came for the drive-thru visitation for Lorne.  I would also like to thank those who sent cards, donations, food, floral bouquets and the many caring phone calls.  It would mean a lot to Lorne to think he had so many kind and wonderful friends and neighbours.  Thank you to all his wonderful children, grandchildren and families who contributed in making Lorne’s family farm visitation such a success.  Lorne would have been proud of them all.  He loved his family.  Thank you to John Van Eyk for your many years of friendship, your hospital visits and the wonderful graveside service.  Thank you to Mike, Rhonda and staff of McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home for your guidance, love and care both before and after Lorne’s passing.
