Douglas Flood
Peacefully at University Hospital on Saturday, March 26, 2016, Douglas Edward Flood of London in his 87th year. Doug was married to his Eleanor Jean (Parker) for 64 years. Father of Douglas (Margaret) Flood, grandfather of Andrew Marshall, Todd Matuchak, Jaime and Morgan Flood and great-grandfather of Everett Marshall. He is survived by his sister Phyllis McLay. Predeceased by his daughter Linda Eakin (2005), brother William (2009), sister-in-law Gwenn (2010) and grandchildren Teddy Vaskelis (1983), Katie Flood (1988) and Clancy Flood (1988).
Doug and Eleanor owned several businesses including restaurants, gift and card stores and an apartment building. Doug was a former police officer for the city of London as well as a top selling salesman for Mother Parkers and Stirling Coffee Companies. Doug will be remembered best for his love of history and his work as the curator of the Guy Lombardo museum.
At Doug’s request there was no visitation. A private interment of his ashes has taken place at Pond Mills Cemetery. McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, Lambeth 519-652-2020 in care of arrangements. On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca.
