Eleanor Ethel (McKercher) Lucas

 

April 27, 1929- February 24, 2021

 

With heavy hearts and loving memories, we announce Eleanor’s peaceful passing at Strathmere Lodge surrounded by her family.  She is predeceased by her husband, Ivan.  Eleanor’s life passion was her family.  She loved nothing more than lending an attentive ear and sharing the celebration of her children’s endeavours.    Loving and devoted mother of Larry (Audrey), Mary (late John Moynihan,2011), Bill (Cindy), Rick (Dorothy) and Kim (Steve).  Cherished Grandmother to her 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grand children. Predeceased by her brother Jack  and his wife Betty, her sister Anne and her husband Don.  Sadly missed by brother-in-law Arn Lucas and wife Lynne. Fondly remembered by all her nieces and nephews.  Born and raised in Watford, Ontario,

 

Eleanor was the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Holmes) McKercher.  Her father was the owner of the hardware store in Watford.   She attended Watford High School where she met her best friend and loving husband, Ivan.  The two of them shared an incredible bond and were inseparable during their 72 years of marriage.  Eleanor was an incredibly devoted wife and mother.  She will be remembered as a beautiful, loving and caring person who always put others before herself.  Eleanor will be fondly missed by all who knew her. We love you mom and will carry you in our hearts and prayers forever.

 

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, a private family service will be held at a later date.  Cremation has taken place.    Donations to Strathmere Lodge Box 5000, Strathroy, Ont.
