Jean Gilmour

Jean Gilmour passed peacefully on September 1, 2020 in her home. Predeceased by her husband James Gilmour, she is survived by her children; Richard (Tony) and Isabel, and her grandchildren; Andrew and Lindsay (Alex) and her great-grandson, Elias. Mom made everyone feel part of her extended family and helped enrich lives in both London and Glasgow through community charity work.

The Celebration of Jean’s life will be held at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas St., E., London, Ont. (at Wavell) on Tuesday, September 8th, 2020 at 1 pm. with interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens to follow.  Due to Covid19, as per the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, a restricted number of people are able to attend the service.  Face coverings are mandatory  100 people are allowed for the committal at the cemetery at  around 1:45.. Like as the waves make towards the pebbled shore,

So do our minutes hasten to their end;

Each changing place with that which goes before,

In sequent toil all forwards do contend.

Nativity, once in the main of light,

Crawls to maturity, wherewith being crown'd,

Crooked eclipses 'gainst his glory fight,

And Time that gave doth now his gift confound.

Time doth transfix the flourish set on youth

And delves the parallels in beauty's brow,

Feeds on the rarities of nature's truth,

And nothing stands but for his scythe to mow:

   And yet to times in hope, my verse shall stand

   Praising thy worth, despite his cruel hand.
