Obituary of Joan Bullen
Joan Marjory Bullen (nee: Green),
May 18th, 1936 to August 14th, 2020
Joan left us peacefully, in her sleep, at home, under the loving and dedicated care of her family. She will be dearly missed by Art, her husband of 64 years. Cherished mother of Susan Parenti, Bill and his wife Wendie, Kevin and his wife Annette and Mark. She will also be missed by her 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Joan had a kind and giving heart, always willing to help anyone, anywhere, anytime. She had strong ties with the United Church both in Oakville and Lambeth. She was a very active member singing in the choir, UCW, leading Sunshine youth folk choir, leader of CGIT, and helping in the church kitchen for any event.
Special thanks to the staff of the McCormick Dementia Day Program. Through your constant kindness and compassion Joan continued to find happiness for many years.
Thank you to those, who over the years, called, facetimed, texted, emailed, wrote letters or dropped by for a visit. Your kindness always brought a smile to her face.
At a later date, when safe to do so, a Celebration of Life will be held in her honour. Also, at a later date, Joan will be laid to rest with her parents Nellie and Bill Green and her brother Billy.
In lieu of flowers, donations to McCormick Care Foundation; Dementia Service Day Program 2022 Kains Road, London, Ont. N6K 0A8 would be greatly appreciated. On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca. McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, Lambeth, 519-652-2020 in care of arrangements.
Rocky Mountain Splendor
Not a whisper of nature’s breath
Disturbs God’s perfection along the pine clad shore;
Lake Louise, carpeted deep in white powder
Neatly sliced with groomed ski trails,
Prepared for novice pleasure . . .
Warm sun rays kiss the ageless glacier
Eternally frozen to complete earth’s timeless plan;
Diamond crusted snow piled layer upon layer
Reaching endless toward the tree line,
Constantly alert to avalanche power . . .
High upon this peaceful wonderland
Disciples of winter guard the scene below;
Magnificent crystal tree-like shapes
Glistening in the morning brightness,
Complete a masterpiece of splendor . . .
Joan Bullen
