Obituary of Ed Quigley

Edward Earl Quigley

Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, with his loving family by his side, on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, Edward (Ed) Earl Quigley of London and formerly of Strathroy in his 88th year.  Cherished partner for 25 years of Ruth Cochrane of London.  Loving father of Patricia Quigley of Ennismore, Robert and his wife Hanne Quigley of Ompah, and Charles and his wife Robin Quigley of Mississauga.  Proud grandfather of Michael and Olga Quigley of Vaughan, Danielle and Justin Sadler of Aylmer, QC, Laura and Steve Hollinger of Toronto, Leslie Quigley of Toronto and Carolyn Quigley of Toronto.  Proud great-grandfather of Alexander and Maxim, Ellis and Everett, Aiden and Claire.    Ed was a mentor to Ruth’s sons Dean and his partner Brigitte and Scott and his partner Cindy and Grandpa Q to Kori and partner Kevin, Grandpa Q to Ashley and Brad, papa Q of Emma, Sophia, Adalyn, Leeson and Caleb.  Special friend of Donna and her daughter Barbara.  Dear brother of Harvey Quigley, Brantford.  Survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Predeceased by his sister Edith and brother-in-law Stewart Davidson, Owen Sound.

At Ed’s request, there will be no visitation.  A Celebration of Ed’s life will be held at the Lambeth United Church, 4268 Colonel Talbot Road, Lambeth (London), ON  N6P 1A2, on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.  Reverend Dr. Ron Dakin celebrating.  Cremation with interment, Strathroy Cemetery.  Donations to Missions Services, 4-797 York Street, London, ON  N5W 6A8 gratefully acknowledged.  On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca . Ed’s life after his long commitment with Canada Bread Company was consumed by his love of volunteering.  He volunteered with many organizations such as Crime Stoppers, Corrections Canada, Citizen’s Advisor, London Parole, Canada Revenue Agency with the volunteer Income Tax Program and many others.
