Obituary of Vivian M Whitney

Whitney, Vivian M.

Peacefully at University Hospital on November 2, 2018, Vivian M. Whitney of Lambeth in her 88th year. 

Beloved wife of Ross Whitney.  Vivian and Ross met as members of their church choir and continued to share their love of music for their whole 67 years of marriage.  She was a long-time member of Lambeth United Church.

Vivian was the loving Mom to George and Fran, Linda and Mickey Apthorp, and Cathie and special friend Cor Wester.  A proud Grandma Vivian to Ben (Diane), Carol (Shaun), Colleen (Jonathon), Emma (Jeff), Josie (Zach), Sam (Amanda), Joey, Jake (Alex), and to 11 great-grandchildren.

We are so thankful for, and will treasure all our beautiful afghans, hooked rugs and sweet teddy bears made by her loving hands.

Vivian enjoyed all kinds of needlework, sewing, needlepoint, knitting and crochet.  She was an avid rug hooker and spent many hours with her friends at the guild.

Dear sister of Marion, and Bill (Barb).  Loved by her brothers-in-law Larry (Patt), and the late Don (Shirley) Whitney.

Vivian is predeceased by her parents Ray and Lila Brush, great-grandson Leo, her brothers Tom (Georgie), Jim (Donna), sister Linda and her brother-in-law Art.

Friends may visit at the M &FR Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Rd. S, Lambeth 519-652-2020 on Tuesday November 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.

A celebration of Vivian’s life will be held at Lambeth United Church 4268 Colonel Talbot Rd. on Wednesday November 7, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment Woodhull Cemetery, Kilworth.
