Obituary of Margaret Ruth Scott

Margaret Ruth (Cornhill) Scott Margaret Ruth Scott (Cornhill) of London, Ontario graduated into heaven to meet her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and was re-united with her husband Donald on the 30th day of November, 2015. Mercifully and supernaturally, the Lord’s wonderful veil of peace and rest has descended upon our mother and released her from her frail and tired body into His presence and into her new and glorified heavenly body, Praise the Lord! Margaret in her 95th year departed this life leaving a strong legacy of faith, commitment, dedication, and love and entered into her heavenly eternity. Life on earth is like a period at the end of a sentence, whereas eternity is a never-ending line! Throughout all her years, Margaret’s life was defined by her steadfast devotion and love for her Lord Jesus and her family – these never wavered. Formerly of Rodney, Ontario, Margaret was the daughter of the late Frederick B. and Margaret (McCoig) Cornhill of Chatham, Ontario. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Donald (2002) of London and formerly Rodney, Ontario. Also predeceased by her sister Jean Thompson and brothers John and James Cornhill, all of Chatham, Ontario. Margaret is survived by her wonderful family, Brian and his wife Brenda of London, Donald and his wife Mary Jane of Toronto, Susan and her husband, Dr. James (Jamie) McKishnie of London as well as her 7 grandchildren, Meaghen (Brenden) Briggs, Matthew (Fiona) Scott, Melissa Scott; Andrew (Bethany) McKishnie; Benjamin Scott, Thomas (Jessica) Scott, and Erin Scott, as well as her 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Jasmine and Lincoln Briggs, and Cohen Scott. Margaret is also lovingly and fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and her church family at Victory Christian Centre in London. Margaret was an educator at heart, graduating from Alma College in St. Thomas, and then encouraging her children and nieces and nephews to obtain university educations. Margaret was always actively involved in her church, leading children’s classes and then various women’s ministries. Her favourite verses were many, but she was particularly fond of Psalms 23 and Ephesians 1:16-23 and 3:14-21, which she prayed for herself and many others on a daily basis. Margaret spent her last five years and nine months as an original resident of The Village of Glendale Crossing (Retirement Home) in London where she was exceptionally cared for my many wonderful staff members. The family is especially grateful for the loving care provided by the staff whose service and care was beyond every expectation. The family will receive guests at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road S., (519) 652-2020, London (Lambeth), Ontario on Sunday, December 6th, 2015 from 2: 00 – 3:00 p.m., followed by a celebration service at 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario at a later date. Donations in Margaret’s memory would be graciously received to Victory Christian Centre, London, Ontario.
