Obituary of Eleanor Irene Buchanan

Eleanor Irene Buchanan Peacefully at Ashwood Manor, Lambeth on Saturday, June 13, 2015, Eleanor Irene (Taylor) Buchanan of Belmont in her 92nd year. Beloved wife for 52 years of the late Robert Douglas Buchanan (1994). Loving mother of Larry and Freda Buchanan of Dorchester, the late Bill Buchanan (2013), Paul and Karen Buchanan of Belmont and Marie and Dave Holwerda of Strathroy. Proud grandmother of Lari (Jim) Peters, Jeff (Tammy) Hunter, Tracey (Randy) Verougstraete, all of Dorchester and Charlotte Landmark and Scott Buchanan, all of London, Jodi (Sean) Nutley, Kara (Jason) De Waele and Stacy Buchanan, all of Belmont and Lindsay (Rob) Angus of Burlington, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by her brothers Jimmy and Joe Taylor. Eleanor was a charter member of the Star of the Nile Lodge #308 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dorchester Donnybrook Legion #513. Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South, Lambeth 519-652-2020 on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm where the celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Pastor Rick Crockford officiating. Interment Dorchester-Union Cemetery. Donations to the Belmont United Church or the Dorchester Donnybrook Legion #513 or the Belmont Park Fund gratefully acknowledged. A Lioness Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 4:00 pm. A Monta Lodge Rebekah Memorial Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.
