Ted Ducharme posted a condolence
"Melame" (as I called her) touched a lot of lives as a friend, coworker and nurse for the good. Her personality is entrenched in our memory. Her easy going, joking and fun spirit uplifted us many times. I am grateful to have been able to be a witness to this as we worked together in a very difficult unit. She will be sadly missed by all of us. Grace and peace be yours always through this difficult time. Affectionately known as "Uncle Ted"

Thinking of you all during this time. I wish I was able to know her better as she reminds me so much of Aunt Mary, which has to be good. Prayers & thoughts your way and to all her family & friends.

I had the honour of knowing Mel as she mentored me as a nursing student. Her spirit was evident from the moment I met her, her compassion and caring, over flowing to each person she met. It was an honour to have learned from her, met her, and get to be in her presents. She will be cherished in so many ways and missed dearly.

We were very saddened to hear of Melanie's passing. She was such an amazing woman. We were very fortunate to spend some great times at hockey games and especially in Chicago with Melanie & John. Freezing at the White Sox Game (LET'S GO PAULY), eating cheezeborgers, and rockin' out AND meeting Lt. Dan. We remember Melanie telling us that she couldn't drink on New Years Eve at the Knights game in Sarnia. It didn't take us long to figure out Little Cameron was on the way! So many great times. Life got in the way and over the last year we lost touch. Life should never get in the way. Melanie, we are blessed to have known you. You will never be forgotten and your beautiful smile will be with us always. Rob & Lori

Melanie, I can still remember the first day I met you when you walked in to Community Living London for the very first time. I knew you were special right away. You accepted me and all my wackiness immediately and not too many people do that. For that I thank you. I have many memories that I will hold near and dear. We lost touch over these last years but, I thought of you regularly and I will continue to do so...and I will smile every time that I do. I know that you would want it that way. Rest In Peace my friend.

It's with sadness that I'm reading this message, Melanie was a great friend, always ready to help and she cared about people so much. Melanie is in a good place now, watching over her son Cameron, her family and her friends. I was blessed to meet Melanie and to call her my friend. I love you Melanie and will miss you.

I was saddened to hear the news and my heart aches for you Mary & Richard and your family. There are so many things in life we do not understand but one thing is for certain - our Lord is close to those who are broken hearted and He does promise us a new life in heaven with Him. You will all miss Mel immensely and all the words in the universe will not ease that. Grieving is a journey that each must take in their own way. Draw strength from each other and more importantly draw strength from and draw near to the Lord who promises to give you peace beyond understanding Know that you are in the hearts and prayers of many and surrounded by love. Continually in my prayers. Love from Marjorie
