Helen we wanted you all to know we are thinking of you. I am Jean Judge's grandaughter. We thought highly of Bern and enjoyed many conversations on the phone over the years. We especially enjoyed the day you folks came up to see us "in the north" and took us for a ride in that old car. We had so much fun that day! Your visits on special occasions and birthdays were always appreciated.Bern wrote some wonderful poems about school life and poetry about our grandmother his teacher. I share those poems often with my students. My family is forever grateful for those memories he recorded. Even if they weren't perhaps entirely true as grandma reminds me from time to time! Grandma Jean is 99 years old now and she often shares stories about her students and I have heard about some really fun early days in Bern's life. May you know we are all thinking of all of you at this time.
