Doreene Gowanlock

After a wonderful day visiting her family and listening to some favourite hymns in her room at University Hospital,  Doreene Myrtle Gowanlock of Lambeth was called home to heaven.  Beloved wife for 70 years of Gerald, mother of Wayne (Tina), Wendy (Rob Parsons) and Chris (Marianne); Gramma to Kelly, Lindsey, Jordan, Megan, Brooke, Shelly and Blake. Great Gramma to Cole, Miles, Oliver, Kieran, Lily, Blair, Drake, and Lucy.  Big sister to Ted Dafoe, Judy Viaene and Linda Mckay.  Predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Myrtle Dafoe and brothers Allan and Gerald.

Doreene loved music and singing. She treasured her friends from Sweet Adelines, Littlewood Church Choir and the West Del Belles. She was a longtime active member of Littlewood United Church serving in the UCW and on many committees including the Turkey and Beef suppers.  She also enjoyed many happy mornings with the ladies at Tim Hortons in Lambeth.

Many thanks to the staff of the Westmount Peritoneal Dialysis unit, the 7th floor Stroke ICU at University Hospital and for the kind wishes from neighbours and friends.

Friends may visit at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South 519-652-2020 on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 6 – 8 pm.  A private family celebration of Doreene’s life will be held later. Cremation with interment White Oak Cemetery.
