Obituary of Gerald Thomas Wardle

Gerald "Gerry" Thomas Wardle After a courageous battle with ALS surrounded by his loving family at Victoria Hospital, London, on Monday, November 24, 2014, Gerry Wardle in his 67th year. Beloved husband of Susan (nee White). Loving father of Michael and Lisa, Douglas and Monica and Barry and Tina. Phenomenal Grandfather “Pa” of Brianne, Madison, Lucas, Andrew, Dianna, Hillary and Abigail. Dear brother of Donald (Lucy), Brian (Toni), Helen (Richard), Phillip (Dawn), Christopher (Sally), and Stephen. Brother in law to Jim White (Sheila), Barry White (Kathy), Sharon Midgette (Chuck). Uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth Wardle of Holmes Chapel, Cheshire England, and son in law of Jean White and the late Douglas White. Predeceased by his brothers, John, David and Anthony. After immigrating from England in 1967, to seek his fortune, he settled in the London area where he met and married the love of his life, Susan. Through his business Gerry's Truck Centre, Gerry was very well known, loved and deeply respected. His passion for tractors and his beloved hay farming brought him much joy. His unsurpassable energy was like no other. Gerry had never ending determination, the biggest, warmest smile and a heart of gold! He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and associates. Friends may visit at the McFARLANE & ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 2240 Wharncliffe Rd., S., Lambeth 519-652-2020 on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, then to the Lambeth United Church where the celebration of Gerry’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 11 am. Reverend Matthew Penny officiating. In lieu of flowers donations to The Gerry Wardle Bursary Fund, which will pay it forward to deserving students in the Motive Power Program for years to come, gratefully acknowledged.
