Jim Elliott

Obituary of Jim Elliott

April 3, 1950 – August 26, 2025

It is with extraordinary sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of James (Jim) Elliott, 75, on August 26, 2025, at his cherished farm, Lilacdale.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of over 50 years Mary, daughters Kate (Paul - 2022) and Anne (Chris), son John, and beloved granddaughters Emma and Charlotte. He will be deeply missed by his sister Jean, brother-in law Neil (Carmella), sisters-in-law Margie and Carol Ann, and his faithful dog Roy.

Jim proudly worked as a D-5 Caterpillar operator and farmer. He enjoyed hunting, horse racing and time spent with his family.  He was renowned for his signature look of suspenders, long-sleeved plaid shirt and a cigar in his mouth. When the barn door was open, neighbours and friends were always welcome to stop in for a visit and story. Jim had a wealth of knowledge that he humbly shared about the world and music, and loved to play harmless pranks.

As the cornerstone of our family, his loss is truly immeasurable.

Familyand friends may visit at McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S Lambeth on Sunday, August 31, from 12:00 - 1:00pm.
