Peacefully, on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Strathroy General Hospital, Dorcas Mycock of Delaware passed away at the remarkable age of 102.
Beloved wife of the late James Mycock and cherished mother of Stephen Mycock. Dorcas was predeceased by her son David and is lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law Chris Mycock of England. Proud and devoted Nana to Tracey (Brandon), Christian (Susan), David James, and Felicity (Shane), she also leaves behind 10 treasured great-grandchildren.
Born in Chinley, England, Dorcas was the daughter of the late Stanley and Alice (Swindells) Howard, and sister to the late Harry and Cecil. She is survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends—and thousands of beloved dogs.
Dorcas had a lifelong passion for breeding and showing Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, a journey that began in England in 1960 and continued after she and James emigrated to Canada in 1967. Together, they also shared a deep love for ballroom dancing.
A celebration of Dorcas’s life will take place at McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S, London, on Thursday, July 31st, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow the service. Private interment will be held at a later date.
