Shirley Mons McGill passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 18th 2025, in her 90th year. She was born in Cochrane Ontario, to Harry and Dorothy Waldron. Beloved wife of the late Thomas William McGill (2018) and dearly loved mother of Deb and Peter Parkinson (Woodstock), Judith McGill (Toronto), and Brian and Kim McGill (London). Shirley is predeceased by her son David in 2005. Cherished grandmother and great grandmother of Ashlee and Brian Fuhr (Theo, Ava and Ellie), Josh and Carli Parkinson, Rebecca Wylie and Ben Coyle (Hugh), Meredith Wylie and Ryan Scheer (Oscar), Cody and Michelle McGill, Stephanie McGill, Chris Kenney-Willder, Kinsley and Chris Loosely, and Anik McGill. Shirley will be missed by her sister Carol (Gilbert) McNall, brother Peter and Sharon Gilbert and brother-in-law, Louie Carlos Contreras (California) as well as, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Barbara (Waldron) and husband Howard Gilbert and brothers-in-law Jim and William McGill. 

Shirley devoted her love to her family. She will be remembered for her connection to the women in her neighbourhood, specifically the euchre and craft groups over the decades. She and Tom enjoyed volunteering and being part of the Western Ontario Fish and Game Protective Association.

The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Westmount Gardens Long-Term Care.

Family and friends may visit McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road South, London on Wednesday August 6th. Visitation will be from 11-12 followed by the funeral service at 12 pm. Reception to follow at the Lambeth United Church on Beattie Street and Colonel Talbot.Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Alzheimer's Society London or to the Lambeth Community Cemetery "Rose Garden"  will be gratefully acknowledged. Online condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca
