Obituary of Jim Dale

A life very well lived. In his 96th year, James “Jim”, “Hoffa” Dale died, Tuesday May 20th in London. Born March 21st, 1930, on the farm, on the 6th Concession of Middlesex County. Predeceased by son Jeff (2022) and son-in-law John (2020).

Lovingly remembered by grandchildren; Alison (Randy), April, Jonathan (Brittany), Steven (Morgan), Cassandra, Haley (Aya), Shelby, Daniel, Logan (Dani), Nicole (Chris), Natasha, Nicole (Frank), Joshua. Great grandchildren; Ella, Nola, Dante, Tristan, Blake, Alice, Maddie and Gabrielle.

He will be lovingly remembered by Patricia Taylor of Delaware and her children, Tim (Louise), Randy and grandchildren Rachel (Thomas), Taylor. Predeceased by Lori and Alex.

At age 14, Jim went from work on the home farm and neighbouring farms to begin his truck driving career and never looked back. With close to 50 years on the road, he drove to make a living and raise his family. The best hockey Dad ever, there can’t have been too many hockey rinks he hadn’t been to watch his sons play. Always happy to drive anywhere in this country, and often later in life to Florida, where he spent many vacations and upon retirement, many winters.

Usually a quiet man, a man of few words, but king of one-liners delivered at just the right moment, even when dementia robbed him of many memories, he could still get a good comment in there.

He had a wonderful long life, and we will miss him terribly.
