Obituary of Ethel McLennan

McLennan- Ethel Lillian (MacAlpine) of The Village of Glendale Crossing Home, London passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 23, 2025 at the age of 101. Beloved wife of the late Lorne McLennan. Loved mother of Ron (Donna), Larry (Theresa) and the late Tim (Debbie). She will be sadly missed by 7 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by sisters Mary, Harriette, Myrtle, Barb, Irene & by brothers Malcolm, Archie, Glenn, Murray and Evan.

Ethel was born August 1, 1923 in Edmonton, the daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Masters) MacAlpine. She was an avid knitter and would donate her toques, sweaters and quilts to the needy and was a volunteer for over 32 years as a Cancer Society canvasser in her area.  She made and collected porcelain dolls throughout her lifetime, and she was a faithful member of Lambeth United Church.

The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere thanks to all the staff and volunteers at The Village of Glendale Crossing for their care and compassion of Ethel.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Rickards Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lambeth United Church in memory of Ethel. McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S London entrusted with the arrangements. (519 652 2020)
