Obituary of Gaile Dale

                                                                       In Loving Memory
                                                                              1947 - 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Gaile Dale on February 14th at Victoria Hospital, at the age of 78. Gaile was a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother, whose warmth and kindness will be forever cherished by her family and friends.

Gaile is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Ray; her daughters, Sarah (and partner Gordon Hunt) and Rebecca (and husband David Korhonen) along with her cherished granddaughter Victoria (and husband Ben Barth). Gaile was also adored by her late grandson, Harrison Korhonen, who remains in our hearts.

Born in Montreal, QC, to Mary and Dick (Walter) Richardson, a British airline navigator, the family moved to England when she was just 4 years old.  In her late teens she met and married Ray while working for him in a music store.  At the young age of 29, Gaile and Ray made the bold and selfless decision to emigrate to Toronto, Canada, in search of greater opportunities for their children.

Throughout her life, Gaile demonstrated a remarkable passion for learning and personal growth. She pursued evening courses while raising her family, earning her HR designation and computer technology certifications. Her determination also led her to become fluent in French, a testament to her resilience and drive to embrace new challenges.

Gaile’s legacy is one of unwavering love and commitment. She touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her generosity, intelligence, and enduring spirit.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private memorial service will be held in the spring.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in Gaile’s honor.

She will live on in our hearts and memories, her light forever guiding those she loved.
