Obituary of Larry Thomas
THOMAS, Larry Lloyd
March 12, 1954 - January 22, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Lloyd Thomas of Lambeth in his 71st year. Larry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 22nd after a heroic one-year battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Dianna Thomas (née Joyes) for 35 years. Loving father of Kimberly (Keith), Kristen (Alex), Katelyn, and predeceased by daughter Kelsey. Predeceased by his parents Marion (née Mansfield) and Lloyd Thomas and parents-in-law Maureen (née Gordon) and Gord Joyes. Dear brother of Marilyn (Ralph) and devoted uncle to Michael (Sue) and Sheri (Orlando). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members including aunt Dorothey Gordon and brother-in-law Peter Joyes. Predeceased by brother-in-law Bob Joyes.
A proud third generation farmer, Larry lived on the family farm his entire life. Extremely hard-working, Larry was trained as a machinist, worked at Sparton Electronics for 35 years, and ended his career working across the country with SDI Canada. Larry had a love of the outdoors, spending time fishing, hunting, and going on ATV trips and family vacations up North. He loved animals, especially cats, and spent countless hours with his shop cat Spooky and his grandcats Phoebe, Penelope, and Pablo. Larry had a great sense of humour and a one-of-a-kind laugh that could be heard miles away. Larry had many cherished close and lifelong friends and embodied what it meant to be a true friend. He was the life of the party and loved getting together to share stories, a laugh, and a beer with family and friends at the farm and at the 501 Legion in Lambeth, where he was a proud member. Above all, he loved his family and friends and was always there for them. He will be missed more than words can express. Cheers Larry, until we meet again. We love you.
