Downes-Margaret (Bogie) of London passed away peacefully on Monday April 8, 2024, at the University Hospital at the age of 89. Dearly loved wife of 60 years of the late John “Jack” Downes (2019) and loved mother of Ian and Stephanie of Ohio. Proud grandmother of Kyle and Emily. Dear sister of Sister Mary Jude, Josephine and Richard LaPlante, Anne and Hugh Timmons and was predeceased by her sister Catherine (late Bert) Blom. Dear sister-in-law of Joe Downes (late Margaret) and is sadly missed by Eileen O’Farrell of Scotland and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Margaret was born October 8,1934, in Hamilton, Scotland the daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret (Kelly) Bogie.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Parish, 1164 Commissioners Rd W. London on Friday April 19, at Noon. Family will greet friends one hour preceding the Mass. A reception will be held at St. George Parish following the Mass. Private interment will be held at St. Peters Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Vincent de Paul, 585 York St., London, ON N6K 1C7.

The family would like to thank the Paramedics, Nurses, and Doctors at University Hospital, who so ably and compassionately cared for Margaret in her final days.
