Virginia (Ginny) Arthur It is with great sadness the family of Mary Virginia Arthur announce her passing on Sunday, September 19, 2021in her 81st year. Beloved wife for 55 years of Don Arthur of London. Cherished mother of Jamie and Andrea Arthur of London and Glen Arthur and Julie Beverstein, of Oakville. Dear sister of Patricia and the late Kerry Wilson, Rosemary and Mike Veaudry and Carolyn and Jim Bowne and her sister-in-law Doris Smith and the late Al Sittler. Ginny had a free and independent spirit, and she lived life on her own terms. Although this was often a tough path for her to follow, and often misunderstood by others, she was admired by many. Ginny loved nature and she was often seen riding her bicycle through Springbank Park and around the neighbourhood as she admired blooming flowers, listened to birds chirping, and she enjoyed everything else mother nature provided. Ginny enjoyed music and art, and she spent many hours at home playing east coast fiddle music, tapping away on the piano, painting, and sketching. She also loved to dance, and she and Don enjoyed dancing and a few trips with their friends in the London Centennial Beavers Square Dance Club. Ginny was a happy grandmother to her grand dogs, Ernie, Ruby, Sophie, and Doodles. She took great pleasure in doting over their every need. Some of her favourite times with them included roaming through the neighbourhood in search of rabbits and squirrels, providing belly rubs, and cooking breakfasts with love. Ginny had a very special relationship with Ruby, which could be described as nothing less than truly, mutual love. Ginny had an adventurous spirit, and she was not afraid to travel, or try new activities that interested her. She travelled throughout the United States by bus, explored the Rocky Mountains with the Rocky Mountain Ramblers, cycles, cross country skied, hiked, painted, sailed, sewed her own fashions and knitted, among many other activities. Ginny lived a very simple, non-materialistic life. Yet, she was generous with her time and her finances, often anonymously, and unsolicited, and directed towards those experiencing the difficulties of life. Ginny cared deeply for her family. She was caring, involved, and protective to Jamie and Glen. She involved them in her travels and exposed them to her interests in music, art, cycling, cross country skiing and many other things. Ginny was immensely proud when Jamie graduated from BCIT and Glen from Western. Ginny was Don's spouse, partner, and friend for more than fifty years. As their lives merged together, Ginny and Don travelled through Western Europe, and they enjoyed the company of their friends in Sarnia and Windsor. Ginny taught home economics in Sarnia, Windsor, Harrow and London while she supported Don as he attended unversity in Windsor, and then teachers college in London. Ginny then became a stay-at-home mom and raised Jamie and Glen while Don taught school in London. In later years, Ginny and Don took Jamie and Glen on trips to visit family and sites throughout Canada and the USA, and they enjoyed many drives to the St. Jacob;s Farmers Market, Goderich, Port Stanley, and Sarnia where Ginny and Don reminisced about the YMCA dance where they met in 1966. Ginny often visited the neighbourhood McDonald's with Don where they read the paper and enjoyed a coffee, and they remained companions to the end. Ginny was loved, and she will be missed by many now that she is at peace. Due to to Covid19 precautions, there will be no visitation. A private family celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, Lambeth, 519-652-2020 on Monday, September 27th 2021, with Reverend Matthew Martin officiating. Cremation has taken place. My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. THE DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY SET OUT IN THESE TERMS OF USE SHALL APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSES, CIRCUMSTANCES OR FORM OF ACTION GIVING RISE TO THE LOSS, DAMAGE, CLAIM OR LIABILITY, EVEN IF SUCH LOSS, DAMAGE, CLAIM OR LIABILITY IS BASED UPON BREACH OF CONTRACT (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, A CLAIM OF FUNDAMENTAL BREACH OR BREACH OF A FUNDAMENTAL TERM), TORT (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, NEGLIGENCE OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE THEORY, AND EVEN IF THE APPLICABLE FOUNDATION PARTY IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THE LOSS, DAMAGE, CLAIM OR LIABILITY.
Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
