Obituary of J. Maurice Gilbert Lacelle

Maurice Lacelle

Peacefully, at Victoria Hospital with his loving family by his side, on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, Maurice (Moe) Lacelle of London and formerly of Ottawa at the age of 84 years.  Beloved husband for 57 years of Vina Lacelle of London.  Loving father of Ron and his wife Aimee Lacelle of London and the late Louise Lacelle (2000). 

Proud grandfather of Connor, Emma and Hailey all of London.  Moe served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 23 years before he was medically released.  During his time in the service he made 52 parachute jumps and won the 1956 Welterweight Boxing Championship.  Moe was an active member of the Canadian Legion for over 45 years.  He spent his time watching his favorite sport teams, Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, Red Blacks and the Steelers. 

Friends may visit at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1997 Dundas St. E. at Wavell on Sunday from 7 – 9 p.m. where the celebration of Moe’s life will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 1030 a.m. with Father Augustine Ogundele officiating.  Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, 301-620 Colborne Street, London, ON N6B 9Z9.  On-line condolences are available through www.mcfarlane-roberts.ca.  McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home (519) 652-2020 in care of arrangements.
