Unforgettable presence-Undeniable gifted athlete- Unapologetically himself
Tim Nix's vibrant personality and gifted athleticism created an undeniable presence. His smile, his confidence, combined with his upbeat energy, made huge positive impact on those around him.
"Safety first" was his mantra. Always at the ready- with a "game on" style Tim could chase down a ball in any sport and make it do what he wanted.
I first met Tim when i moved to London at a scheduled doubles tennis match. Despite initial tension due to my lateness Tim's practical advice got me out of a very tight jam. He came over to me and whispered, "Just say you will buy the beer after the game". I did that and like magic the game went on, with me in it.
Tim was respected by many for being gifted, genuine, real and raw. He had a unique sense of humor and high likeability. It didn't matter about the sport you always wanted Tim on your side. He had a way of relating that drew you to him. He was so likeable i somehow ended up sharing my secret stash of 4012 oranges which i kept solely for winning purposes.
Tim's passion of music was noted during a Tim McGraw concert. Tim loved music. Upfront and personal Tim never missed a beat. It was a toss-up which Tim was the best looking and or in the best shape. Tim was a storyteller. My favorite times were when he talked about northern Canada. He somehow understood the spirit of the north, the beauty of the extreme cold and the bright northern skies. We both inherited the deep longing and awareness one experiences such extremes.
Tim gave straightforward and good advice. He was the guy you listened to, However i must admit i took his advice far too seriously. This became obvious playing against him in baseball. When i got up to bat Tim would say from his stance at second base" Put the ball right here in my glove" for some silly reason i did just that! i fell for it hook line and sinker!
Tim was direct and didn't suffer fools well nor did he take prisoners. He had very little patience for what he called Knuckleheads. "Knuckleheads are everywhere". was one of his signature statements.
Tim will be missed but never forgotten. He made a lasting impression though authenticity, humor and generosity.
He was handsome, fit, multi-gifted and at the ready. He could have been anybody. Instead, he gave us the most incredible of all gifts-the gift of being- --unapologetically Himself

My condolences to Tim's family and friends.
Tim loved playing slo-pitch with Huff N Puff. We were team mates a couple of times. He was always smiling and encouraged everyone on the team to have fun. Sorry I won't be able to attend the celebrations due to another commitment.
May he rest in peace.

I met Tim at the Western University Tennis bubble for pickleball. He lumbered around the court and always had a good time. I think he is the only person that would call his own shots out when they were in. Glad I met Tim

So sad to hear of Tim’s passing. Cindy and I remember Tim as a fellow pickle ball player at Dorchester arena. Always a smile and never a bad word about anything. A pleasure to play with and against on the court. I remember him always teasing me when I got my hair cut short as we both shared a balding head. We send our condolences. Al and Cindy Harvey
