Lenssen, Trudy (née Buren)

Of Lambeth, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Louis Lenssen (2009). Cherished mother of Debby (Bryan), Jeff (Sandy), Larry, Michelle (Ron), and Sonya (Rob). Proud Oma of Kirk (Katie), Kyle, Zach, Elena (Brian), Lindsay, Kyle, Ashley (Connor), Matthew (Sherri-Lynn), Nikola (Nicholas), Grace (Curtis), Daniel, Douglas, Liam, Nicholas, and Kate. Treasured Great-Oma of Logan, Reese, Kali, Lincoln, Sophia, Declan and a very special place in her heart for Nora.

Dear sister of Dora and Lambert Smeets, and sister-in-law of Irene, Pat, Maria and Marlies. She will be fondly remembered by her best friend's daughters Tina and Catherine (Tom), whom she loved like family. Dear friend to Bruce,her dance partner and Lawrence, her coffee mate. She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Trudy embraced life with humour and independence. In her 60s with her best friend Maria, she discovered line dancing and winemaking - a Friday night doubleheader. She could shop until the cows came home and famously enjoyed the occasional midnight skinny dip in her pool. She was a terrible driver, as confirmed by the Ministry of Transportation, and an incredibly supportive friend who took great pleasure in helping others. She stayed active and social, keeping busy on the pickleball court well into her late 80s.

Though she struggled being on the receiving end of help later in life, Trudy sincerely acknowledged and deeply appreciated the love and support shown by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S Lambeth on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Justin’s Roman Catholic Church (855 Jalna Blvd., London) on Tuesday, February 3, at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow and private interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to The Children's Museum in London.https://www.londonchildrensmuseum.ca/
