Bogart- Gayle Janette (Lanning) of Southwold passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday December 7, 2025 at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital at the age of 72. Dearly loved wife of 48 years of Allan Bogart and proud mother of Alana Bogart of New Zealand and Andrew Bogart of New Market. Dear sister of Roberta Gillard (Tim), Becki Gillard (Terry). Lynn Lanning, Wanda Swance (Evan) and sister-in-law of Deanna Cole, Maxine Lampman, Gordon Bogart (Janette) and she is fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Gayle was born December 6, 1953 in St. Thomas, the daughter of the late Marjorie and Donald Lanning. She was the manager of Ag Employment in Aylmer and was the field service representative with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture until her retirement. She was a former Southwold Township council member and was a Shedden-Fingal Optimist member as well as a former 4 H Club leader and was a member of the Union United Church. She cared for her family and her community throughout her life.


A celebration of her life will be held in July of 2026 at the Union United Church, (Further details will be provided). Cremation has taken place. Donations can be made to the Union United Church (6008 Stone Church Rd., Union N0L 2L0) in Gayle’s memory. McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S., Lambeth entrusted with the arrangements.
