We were sad to learn of Aunt Shirley's passing. We had talked a number of times with her recently at Ashwood Manor as Lori's mother Connie was also a resident. We had long talks about everyone in the family and how we enjoyed family get togethers at the farm as well as at Aunt Carol's farm and Dad's cottage in Grand Bend. She will be missed. To Jennifer, Chris and the Whitney family
I have had the pleasure of knowing Shirley the past 50 years. I've been impressed by her energy, her many interests, and being able to find a good life after Don' s death. Her children, grands and great grands certainly were a big part of this.
In her 80s ,she belonged with other area women to a Lambeth exercise that seemed a very active, social bunch.
Driving past the farm on Westdel 6 or 7 years ago, I saw this senior lady in her straw hat, garbage bag in hand picking up stuff the lesser lights of London had dumped in the ditch. I don't think you see many 80 year olds out ditch cleaning on a hot summer day.
I feel badly for the kids, grands ,and great grands for the loss of one of their best supporters.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your amazing mom. I have such fond memories of her from her time living at the Tait’s farm. She could do anything and always in a calm quiet confident manner. Thinking of all of you as you grieve her loss. Cherish the memories!
Peace and prayers,
Elizabeth (Janssen ) Burtwistle

Shirley was a light at Ashwood, my dad, Gerald Gowanlock, loved bantering back and forth with her and we all loved seeing her dance, with her walker, whenever there was musical entertainment! She will truly be missed by everyone!! Wendy and Gerald
