Obituary of Andrew Jenkinson

Jenkinson- Andrew Kerry, It is with profound sadness that the family of Andrew “Andy” Jenkinson announce his sudden passing on November 10 at his home in Strathroy, ON. He was 66 years old. Survived by his siblings, Connie Amos and Ian Jenkinson, both of London, his sister Fran and her husband Dunc of Mt. Brydges, and his sister-in-law Mary Jenkinson of Lambeth. Cherished uncle to several nieces, nephews and their children. Predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Evelyn Jenkinson, his brother Peter, and brother-in-law Martin Amos.

Always a sportsman, Andrew was a part of the minor hockey and baseball community in Lambeth where he grew up. In his early adulthood, he was a member of the Lambeth Optimist Fastball Team, playing infield just as Dad did. When it was time to hang up his cleats, he traded them in for golf shoes, and golf became his new passion, one he was able to share with his brothers and good friends. A kind and gentle soul, he had a wonderful sense of humour, and was particularly good at teasing his siblings, especially about how he was Mom’s favourite. He was an adventurous cook. He enjoyed puttering in the garden, and loved Crossword lottery cards, and was a lifelong fan of the New York Rangers, the Detroit Tigers, and his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Most of all, he loved his family, just as we have all loved him. We will never stop, and we will miss him forever.

A Celebration of Andrew’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Lambeth Royal Canadian Legion Branch #510, 7097 Kilbourne Rd., London, from 1-4 pm., with words of remembrance at 2:00 pm.  Any donations in his memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation /https://www.heartandstroke.ca/ or the charity of one’s choice. McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd. S., Lambeth entrusted with the arrangements.
