Katharina (Kathy) passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.

She was born May 24, 1937 in Nagyszekely, Hungary, to Margaretha (Hilgert) and Reinhardt Tippel,

Kathy’s life was one of quiet strength, gratitude, and faith.

Lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her son Brian Landon (Wendy) and daughter La Vonne Haynes. Kathy was a cherished grandmother to Eric Landon (Diane Collins), Jason Landon (Natalie Simms), Phillip Haynes, and Aldina Kostecki (Jack), and great-grandmother to Alicia Landon, Zackary Landon and Morgan Kostecki.

Survived by her sister Anna Maria Toth (Tihamerne) of Hungary.

Predeceased by sisters Eva Tippel, Elizabeth Fritz, Margit Torok, and brothers Ron Tippel (Pauline) and Henry Tippel (Marilyn).

Despite a life-changing accident in 1965, Kathy’s happy and thankful spirit touched the lives of many around her.

Her gentle heart, sense of humour, and resilience will always be remembered.

The family extends our heartfelt gratitude to the medical team and staff at Middlesex Terrace for their compassionate care and support during Kathy’s nine years there.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mcfarlane & Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S., London on Sunday November 9th from 1-3 pm.

 In lieu of flowers, donations to Hutton House 

in honour of Katharina’s memory, would be appreciated.
