It is with profound sadness that the family of Paul Jerome O’Brien announces his passing on September 30 ,2025 from Alzheimer’s at the age of 81.
He left this world peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, after a life lived full of love, laughter and pride. Son of the late Jerome and Rena O’Brien. Survived by his sister Patricia Hudak, (Mike 2017), Predeceased by his sisters Teresa O’Brien 2019, and Kathleen O’Brien 1982.
Cherished by his loving wife Lori-Anne O’Brien for over 31 years. Proud father of Paul O’Brien, Lisa Brodie (Dave), Matthew O’Brien (Lisa Williams). Predeceased by Darren O’Brien 1990.
Loved Papa of Courtney O’Brien (John), Josh O’Brien (Heather) Ashley DeRose, Brennan Brodie (Bethany) Amanda Brodie, Cassidy O’Brien (Matt) and Kylie O’Brien. Also, by his great-grandchildren Sloanne, William, Matthew and Luke.
Loved brother in-law of Cathy Funstin (Casey 2023), Anita Cairns, Rob and Laura Verboven. Predeceased by his father-in-law John Verboven 2016 and mother-in-law Antonia Goos 2018.
Special uncle to several nieces and nephews who meant so much to him. Predeceased by Joanne Funstin 2021.
Special thanks to Dr Bestwick, Wendy McEwen and Hailey Gray, palliative care and the nurses, especially Laura and Eileen, on the 10th Floor, University Hospital for helping with Paul’s journey.
Visitation will be held at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S., Lambeth on Sunday October 5th from 1-4 pm.
A Celebration of Paul’s life will be held at the Rose Chapel 6700 Burtwistle Lane, London (Stoneridge Inn Highway 401& Highway 4) on Monday October 6th at 11:00 am followed by a reception. Private Interment of ashes following at the McArthur Cemetery.
