Sorry to hear about our dear friend Wayne. We enjoyed our times together at Strathroy on the Basketball team, our trips to the Ball games at Tiger Stadium and the hockey games at Detroit and Toronto Maple Leafs and especially our times of playing hockey and cards and touch football. He was always kind to drive and give encouragement. Wayne was there when I first met Carol sixty three years ago. We enjoyed playing cards at his Mothers place. I enjoyed working with him at the Royal Bank. Carol and I send heartfelt condolences to the Giles family and to Rob and his family. (We were so sorry we could not attend his visitation, but we were in Ottawa and didn't get back till later Friday evening). May he rest in peace after a life well lived. Al and Carol Kish

To share a memory I will go back to when I first met Wayne, I was dating a good friend of his and we would sometimes go out for a drive on Sunday, my husband Bob, Wayne and me. We went up to Grand Bend at times in the spring and walked along the beach. Other times this we would get together with his other friends, John MacDonald, Bob Thornhill, my husband Bob Kish and his two brothers Al and Charlie at Wayne's parents place and play cards, they taught me how to play poker. As time went by the fellows found their life partners and we would go to dances and just have a good time.. We did go on with our lives in different directions but the strong friendship the group had never waivered over the years and when the fellows got together it was as though they saw each other just yesterday. I will say that you will never find a truer, more loyal friend than Wayne. Rest in peace my dear friend

My deepest condolences to Rob and Family. Had many great conversations and laughs with Wayne in the barn at the farm. His wit and dry humour made the day at work a lot shorter. Wayne loved the time with the dog and his horses, and many times had me tend to stray and aged cats on the farm. He was a great friend and will be missed by all. My deepest sympathy.
