Patricia Jean Oldham (Campbell) passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024 at Parkwood Hospice surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with cancer. Married for almost 45 years to her late husband Claire Oldham of Southwold, Pat was a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin to her four children, five grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was also a dear friend to many. “Patsy” was born to the late R.D. Campbell and Marion Campbell (McNabb) of Cowal where she grew up on Bellview Farm along with her younger brother Jamey Campbell of Chatham. In her youth, Patsy was an avid pianist and member of 4-H. She was also the organist at Chalmers United Church in Cowal. Pat and Claire lived in Lawrence Station where they raised their children; the late Jim Oldham of Ottawa, Joan Somerville (Richard McWilliam) of Shedden, Jackie Oldham of St. Thomas, and Janice Oldham Quanz (Larry Quanz) of Waterdown. Together, they owned and operated Oldham Pro Hardware in Dutton, where they made many close connections within the Dutton/Dunwich community. Pat later worked at the St Thomas Public Library as a secretary-bookkeeper. There she made many life-long friends, some of whom started a lunch group at Wendy’s every Tuesday. Over three decades later, this ritual still continues today. As one who always loved to be out and about, Pat took up a retirement job as a card merchandiser for Hallmark. She loved bumping into friends and having a chat while restocking the Hallmark greeting card display at the local Superstore. Once again, she became long time friends with many of her coworkers from Hallmark. Pat was involved in numerous community organizations throughout her life. She shared her homemaking knowledge and skills leading 4-H groups for many years. Pat was a longstanding member of the Kensington Club of Lawrence Station, joining as a newlywed, and remaining a member for over 60 years until her passing. For over 20 years, Pat volunteered at The Caring Cupboard foodbank in St Thomas. She also spent many years as a volunteer driver delivering hot lunches for the Meals on Wheels program. But her very favourite volunteer work was donating her time, energy, and love to her grandchildren! Pat savoured the opportunity to help in any way that she could with her five grandchildren – Joan’s daughter Jordan, Jackie’s sons Jesse and Sam, and Janice’s sons Thomas and Colton. Without question, Pat went above and beyond in the Grandma department! Despite her cheery disposition, Pat was no stranger to family loss. She lost her father shortly after getting married at age 19. In 1997, her eldest child Jim passed away at age 36. In the fall of 2004, her granddaughter Jordan had a fatal accident, and just a few months later she lost her husband Claire following a heart attack during the Christmas holidays. Nonetheless, Pat’s eternal optimism, caring spirit, and love for life would not waiver. She had that something special that made her easy to talk to and a pleasure to be with. Whether she was travelling to the far corners of the globe, or partaking in everyday simplicities at home, Pat would surely be making the most of any situation. How lucky we are to have been blessed by knowing Pat. For those considering memorial donations, the family has chosen two options close to their hearts. The first is The Caring Cupboard food bank where Pat volunteered. Having witnessed the exceptional palliative care at the Parkwood Hospice in London, Pat’s family would also like to support local efforts to bring a similar hospice to our community by supporting The Hospice of Elgin. https://youtube.com/live/nksnejIDONk

An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.

Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
