Obituary of Walden Allen

Walden (Waldie) Allen Peacefully at University Hospital on Monday, February 2, 2015, after a short battle with multiple myeloma in his 87th year. Dearly loved husband of 63 years of Evelyn (Adair). Survived by sister Eloise Kent (Mercer Island, WA). Predeceased by sisters Marjorie Gorman, Shirley Carscallen, Hazel Kaizer, and Phyllis Ritchie. Wonderful father of John (Wendy), Jane, Joe, and Julie (Richard Hickling). Pre-deceased by son Steven, 1999. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Wes (Laura Rabold), Taylor (Becky), Beverly, Sam (Amanda Grant), Joe and Jake Allen, Andrea and Paul Hickling. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, his pals at Romeos, and best friends Ken Lampman, Victor Brown, and Jim Grover. Waldie was the long-time owner of Allen Auctions in Lambeth. Also the original track announcer at Delaware Speedway. Well-known entertainer, avid horseman and sailor. Visitation on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 2pm to 4pm, and 7pm to 9pm at McFarlane and Roberts Funeral Home 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S, Lambeth. A celebration of Waldie’s life will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11am at Lambeth United Church 4268 Colonel Talbot Road, Lambeth. Private internment Woodhull Cemetery, Kilworth. Special thanks to Dr. John Jordan, the Palliative Care Team, L.H.S.C., and the Parkwood Physical Maintenance Program.
