Evelyn was a kind and caring person, a devoted mother and wife, a loving sister and friend and a terrific travelling companion to her best friend, her daughter. Evelyn loved to take care of people and did so all her life. She was famous for her homemade apple pies. In her younger years, she loved to dance and go to parties. She also liked to spend time at the family camp on summer weekends. She loved to sit on her back deck and watch the squirrels and blue jays fight over the peanuts. She loved her flowers and enjoyed her backyard. There was always a cold beer or a glass of wine ready for company. Evelyn was a fantastic knitter in her day and created beautiful things for her children and grandchildren. She was artistic and self-educated, an avid reader and always encouraged her children and grandchildren to get an education…that was important to her. She loved doing crosswords they were her passion and fell in love with the iPad in later years. It kept her up-to-date on the family news, pictures and events.
She lived a life filled with love and friendship. Evelyn was born in Owen Sound, Ontario, where she met and married our father and will be laid to rest there with her husband of 53 years. At Evelyn’s request, there will be cremation with no visitation or service at the time. If desired, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
